MARCH 2025
Expansions Poll
For this Poll, please go to this LINK and vote on the option you are interested for the town of Snakewater. Based on the poll results, one Expansion will be Unlocked at Tier 1: 0/300 - unlike previous such polls, this means that it grants benefits right away but it is also vulnerable to Malefic Alignment.
If you have attended any BTF Event as a Player Character, you are eligible for this Poll. The Polls will close two weeks after opening (04/06/2025; 11:59 PM)
The Choices:
Delver’s District (Dives)
A rough and tumble part of town for mercenaries and monster hunters.
-
After 10 minutes of discussion with others regarding combat tactics and monster hunting techniques, you may apply “Vorpal Lore” to yourself or another willing Character. This requires the expenditure of five minor Death or Abyssal components, representing resources spent in one’s research. As this Expansion progresses, so too will the scope and benefits of Vorpal Lore.
Vorpal Lore (1 ATN): Your Smite attacks and damaging Spells inflict one more point of damage than normal, adhering to the damage limits. However, you are not able to grant Healing or Resolve that exceeds more than one point.
-
The damage bonus of Vorpal Lore is further increased for this Event. However, this also boosts criminal activity in the region.
Lotuslight Gardens (Gardens)
The Carminians, the Tecnocracia, the Ghoststars, the Gardeners, and similarly inclined aesthetes have made an allied enclave to bring “culture” and uplift the Arts.
-
-- Beautify Area: At least five PCs working together can beautify a part of the Cantina or a small structure. This costs 1 Craft-Ritual action (Builder or Counselor only) or 1 Basic CMP (any Class) and has prop requirements, requiring an Item Tag from Game Staff. This tag expires at the end of the Event.
— Floral Invigorate: When done in a Beautified area (see above). Restful Composition, Soothing Meal, and Restore Focus have the following bonuses:
They grant +1 more Lasting Resolve than normal, adhering to the limit. This limit might change at higher Tiers.
The Invigorate status that they imbue is improved, this ignores effects that would limit self-healing. Invoke this as “Floral Invigorate”
Prop Requirements: Within a small area that is at least 10x10 feet, at least three floral decorations that are at least 2 feet in height, vibrant, and beautiful.
These decorations can be substituted with other aesthetically pleasing decor such as small statues, art exhibitions etc.
Living plants and fragile props are discouraged by Game Staff, as is setting up in areas that inhibit foot traffic.
-
The influx of society and artistry brings new life and new perspective to Snakewater, spurring creativity to new heights. The Resolve granted by Tier 1 is increased by an additional +1 and all Craft-Ritual actions outside of Market Hour are considered to be augmented by either Bonus Output or Bonus Quality. However, strange beings and strange individuals may be drawn to the luster of this creativity and color.
Tradewinds Quarter (Crossroads)
Snakewater is a melting pot of culture and economy. This can yield great dividends and conjure great alliances.
-
-- Better Bargains: When you perform a Craft, or Ritual action during a Market Hour, you may ignore type requirements for Basic and Rare CMP. If Snakewater also has Tier 3 Market Exchange, then this also applies to Pure CMP and to Tasks.
— Traveling Trader: Once per Event, a Traveling Trader from one of the Archfactions can be contacted via the Janky Transmitter, an activity which requires 5 Craft-Ritual actions, at least two of which must be from a Builder or Arcanist.
Once contacted, they will approach the town if it is safe enough, within the current Period or the next one. Contacting them on the 3rd Period is not advised. Optionally, this Trader may need protection walking into town or walking out of it, affecting current and future visits.
While their inventory lasts, this Trader will trade 5 random Basics for 1 random Rare and 5 random Rares for random 1 Pure, with none of the typical extra costs associated with them. (Normally, 1 Rare CMP requires 5 Basic and 1 Minor CMP)
This Trader does not have access to specific CMPs. They will help a specific person 3 times per visit, though this may change as the Crossroads improve.
-
With the influx of people comes a greater number of mercantile and technical knowledge. The next Event will have an additional Market Hour or will feature a cultural celebration of a Subfaction that everyone is invited to attend. On the other hand, bad actors or discordant elements may attempt to sabotage good will, pursue vendettas, or attack the town’s infrastructure.
Whispering Henge (Henge)
This district is named for the henge to the Wildling Whispers at its center, which brings the spirit and mortal realms closer.
-
Prayerful Blessings: Through divine communion, a Player Character enkindled to a faith can gain a single Attunement effect that a Shrine of their Faith would normally bestow. However, this becomes inert for the Event’s remainder if they violate any of their faith’s tenets/taboos. This has the following requirements:
One minute of prayer or meditation at a Personal Shrine of your faith (see Deotheurgy prop requirements)
1 Basic CMP (any)
1 Ritual action: either yours or a willing Arcanist or Counselor of that faith. You can also waive this requirement by increasing the CMP cost to 3x Basic CMP.
Henge Blessing-- This works as above but waives all faith requirements in exchange for a limited scope and the help of local spirits. Instead a shrine, this requires the Grave Marker and but only has access to the following Attunement effects.
Obscuring Blessing (see Deep Shrine): Gain the ability to flee and hide.
Renewing Blessing (see Ancestral Shrine): Increase HP and be heal yourself after being revived.
Voidfrost Blessing (2 ATNs, see Deep Shrine): Strengthen and freeze your blades and spells.
Bountiful Blessings: When a Soother or Deotheurge bestows the Attunement effects of a Hallowed Shrine or a Workshop with Shrine Properties, they can affect 5 individuals instead of only one person. If the Ritual is augmented with Bonus Output, then it can affect up to 10 individuals.
-
The spirits and energies of the land surge in power. During this time, hungering spirits or immaterial specters flow into the world and roam the area. Affliction spirits and energies are also rampant - using the Distil Disease skill (or a similar effect) always yields a Basic CMP instead of a Minor CMP.
