Attendance

Attendance to a BTF Event is a gift given to those who donate a certain amount to Prismatic Arts and Productions. The cost of the donation and the gift allotted to the donor are as below.

Base Costs

$20 Full Time NPC only (This may be free on certain months such as November, and January)

$40 Basic PC  (required 3-hour NPC shift plus NPC rewards for doing so)

$60 Standard PC (no NPC shift required, but can perform a Shift for rewards)

$80 Patron (No NPC shift required and bonus XP; can perform a Shift for Components)

Attendance Types Overview

Full time NPC ($20)

Attending BTF in this capacity is the most economical option, but for many participants, it can be the most fulfilling. Full time NPCs are constantly engaged and participating in game content, be it as antagonistic monsters, support roles, or more eclectic personalities. Full Time NPCing can be likened to being the backstage crew, if such a crew were armed with weapon props and ready to be unleashed upon the unsuspecting player base.

More information on Full Time NPCs and NPCs in general can be found in the NPC Duty page.

Attending as a Full Time NPC awards a participant 3-5 XP (based on performance) to their Characters. Furthermore, one of their Characters gains 0-3 Basic Components per Period of service (type is Game Staff’s choice).

Basic PC ($40)

Those who want to participate as Player Characters but lack funds or love performing NPC shifts may choose this option. This is a lower price point than the Standard option but remains a viable choice for most Participants. The only difference between the two is that Basic PCs are required to perform an NPC shift for at least 3 hours -- they are allowed some choice in the matter. However, there are limits to how many NPCs are in a specific time slot, on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Performing an NPC Shift awards bonus XP (3-5) as well as at least 1 Basic Component (type based on Game Staff’s choice) per hour as well as other benefits. NPC Shifts during Period 3 may have additional rewards.

** As a lower price point than Standard Attenmdance, this can also be considered a “discount” for those participants who intend to perform such a shift anyway.

Standard PC ($60)

Attending as a Standard PC is the most frequent choice. The main benefit of being a Standard PC is eluding the requirement on performing an NPC shift. That said, those that choose to do this may still perform and benefit from an NPC shift.

Performing an NPC Shift awards bonus XP (3-5) as well as at least 1 Basic Component (type based on Game Staff’s choice) per hour as well as other benefits. NPC Shifts during Period 3 may have additional rewards.

Patron PC ($80)

This is for those participants who wish to assist further in their support of BTF. Attendance as a Patron PC has the following benefits:

  1. No required NPC Shift

  2. +5 XP; this overlaps/doesn’t stack with any XP one would gain from NPCing

  3. +3 Basic Components to one’s reward for performing an NPC shift.

KICKSTARTER REWARDS

Individuals who gained Patron-level Attendance and/or Year Pass attendance via the Kickstarter need only secure their place at the first Event by sending an Email to us -- please do this only if you are attending this incoming Event.

Pre-registration

Pre-registration opens three weeks before an Event and closes one week before the Event. When Pre-Registration is open, it will be linked in our Event pages.

Early Worm bonuses: You can request a specific time slot for NPCing by Pre-Registering for an Event. Since these are First-Come-First-Serve, this may benefit those who have preferences for time.

Non Attendance

If you have pre-registered for an Event and you cannot go, please inform us at the earliest opportunity -- the deadline for this is the Thursday evening before the Event. A simple email to btfGameStaff@gmail.com or a text message to 609-468-7112 will suffice, with self-identification. Our goal is to be accommodating and cooperate with our Participants through their difficulties. Although we cannot perform refunds as a Non-Profit, we can move an Absentee’s registration to a future date.

Outside of extreme emergencies, failure to inform us in advance will result in the pre-registration being applied to the current Event. However, the benefits of the registration still apply: the appropriate amount of XP and components will be awarded to the absentee Participant.

Buy Back (aka Back-oRders)

Players who wish to benefit from past Events that they did not attend may donate money to do so. This grants them XP and a Basic Component. Besides attending events and expending service points, this is the only other way to gain XP for one’s Characters. Obviously, one cannot “Buy Back” an Event more than once.

Unlike attending a regular Event, “Back Orders” award more XP. However, they only grant Interim Actions only if pledged within Two Weeks after that specific Event has elapsed. Furthermore, they are subject to the 3 Interim Action limit.

$40 10 XP and one Basic Component

$60 15 XP and one Basic Component

$80 15 XP, 40 Service Points, and three Basic Components

Experience Point Limit

No Player Character may have more XP than the number of Events (including any Beta Events) times 15. This does not count Legacy XP.

For example:

Events XP Limit

1st Event 15 XP

2nd Event 30 XP

3rd Event 45 XP
